Guided video tour of the art exhibition in the Small Fortress Museum, Terezín Memorial

June 29, 2020 by admin

Between mid-March and mid-May 2020, when the Terezín Memorial was closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, its employees in all the Departments were working on many different projects. For instance, on the reconstruction of some interior premises in the Small Fortress, etc.

Virtual sightseeing tour of the Small Fortress Museum in the Terezín Memorial is available on YouTube.

At that time, the Terezín Memorial devised a completely new project in its domain – the very first guided video tour of one of the Terezín Memorial´s permanent exhibitions, namely the art display in the Small Fortress Museum. On display in this exhibition are more 200 exhibits featuring anti-Nazi, anti-fascist and antiwar subjects that were made from the 1930s until the 1980s, including, among other artifacts, works by Czech painters Emil Filla and Josef Čapek. This exhibition had its opening ceremony in 2015 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Terezín; its curator is PhDr. Blanka Stehlíková, CSc. The guide and specialized consultant of the video tour, which can be viewed on YouTube, is Mgr. Tomáš Raichl, the depository manager. The video was produced by the company Tukutuk Media. This video guided tour is now available in the Czech version.
