The International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust and for the Prevention of Crimes against Humanity was again marked in the Terezín Memorial in January 2018, this time by readings from a biography of Mrs. Lisa Miková, a survivor of the Terezín Ghetto, the Auschwitz concentration campa and the Mauthausen concentration camp.
The book, written by the German historian Werner Imhof and entitled Ich bitte Sie, wir sind doch Europäer! Lisa Miková – eine Tschechin, die nicht nur Auschwitz überlebt hat, was put out by the publishing house Tredition Hamburg in 2018. So far the book is available only in German, its Czech translation is being prepared.
The event was held in the cinema of the Ghetto Museum in Terezín. The reading of excerpts from the book that traces the most important moments in the life of Mrs. Lisa, was interspersed with compositions by Jaroslav Ježek and performed by the Klár Quartet. This remembrance event was attended, in addition to the invited guests, also by students of the Vocational School of Trade and Services in Teplice and students of the Josef Jungmann High School in Litoměřice.
